Summer Camp Summary
June 10, 2024 to July 26, 2024

We are now accepting applications at this time for girls in grades K - 12th.

Girls Inc. of Lakeland is currently enrolling girls in grades 1st – 12th for its summer program. Space will be limited, so applications will be accepted on a first come - first served basis. Once applications are reviewed, you will receive notification of your child’s enrollment status for the summer.

Registration fee for the summer is $20.00 for the first child and $10.00 for each additional child in the same family household. Weekly fees will be $65.00 per child. Fees must be paid at the beginning of each week. No cash payments will be accepted this summer. There will be an assessed fee of $2.00 for each day that fees are late being paid. Fees are based on five days of care. Your child care fee is payable for each week whether or not your child is present the entire week or any part of the week. Fees will not be refundable nor will credit be given for days that a child is absent. You may request two weeks of vacation during the summer, for which you will not be charged a fee if you request the vacation 2 weeks in advance.

Lunches will be provided by the Polk County School Board. If your child does not prefer these lunches, please provide her with a bag lunch and drink labeled with her name on the container. We are asking parents to remind your child to be sure to carry lunch containers home each evening. Drinks that are purchased from the center for lunch MUST BE PURCHASED UPON ARRIVING. They will not be allowed to purchase at lunch time. Girls will eat lunch with their assigned group.

The snack bar will be open every day from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. We are working on a new system of how money will be handled for snacks. We will advise you of how this will work prior to June 6th.

There will be limited fieldtrips this summer . Girls cannot go on any fieldtrips during their first week at Girls Inc. This allows new girls to get familiar with Girls Inc. rules and staff, and also allows staff time to get familiar with new girls. Fieldtrips will not be paid in cash this summer. Personal checks will be accepted. Girls scheduled to go on fieldtrips must be checked in by 9:00 a.m. unless otherwise stated.

Proper shoes and dress attire must be worn at all times. Please review the attached rules with your daughter to ensure that she is dressed appropriately. Of special note, girls should not wear pants with holes, shorts should not be short-shorts, tops should not be strapless or spaghetti straps. Shoes must be closed in from the back and for safety reasons, tennis shoes are suggested especially for outside play. Parents of girls dressed inappropriately will be called to bring them appropriate clothing/shoes.

Girls are not permitted to have the items listed above while at Girls Inc. If a girl is found with these items in her possession, she will face discipline by the President and CEO.

We are planning fun and limited field trips, along with our regular programs. If you have questions concerning any of the above, please phone 682-3002 ext. 222.
